Coffee shop. Harry and Sally sit opposite each other at a small table by the window. There is a lull in the conversation. Strike chanting is faintly heard. Harry glances out the window.

Harry

Who are those people?

Sally

(Turns to look.) Oh, those are the sign printers.

Harry

What are they doing?

Sally

Don’t you watch the news? The sign printers are on strike.

Harry

The sign printers are striking, huh? (Sips coffee.) That would certainly explain why they’re all carrying blank signs.

Cut to picketers. They march and chant while carrying blank signs. Fade out.

Say! Isn’t that Andy?

As Harry turns to look, the voice of the coffee shop worker is heard off-screen.

Worker

I SAID, WE DON’T HAVE ANY SWEET ROLLS!!!

Sound of a glass coffee pot being smashed over someone’s head.

Harry

Yep! That’s him.

They get up and walk off-screen towards Andy.
